PICOS DE EUROPA 4X4 TOUR

Our 4×4 tour through Picos de Europa National Park is perfect for those who want to explore the park via mountain roads, tracks, and passes without hiking the Cares route.

We depart from Cangas de Onís around 9:30 – 10:00 AM in the summer. From October onwards, we adjust departure times to earlier in the morning during autumn, winter, and part of spring due to shorter daylight hours. This tour is available by reservation only. We will traverse the Desfiladero de los Beyos, following the Sella River.

Our journey will take us to the Sajambre Valley, where we will follow an ancient Roman road and visit a historic corn mill from 1873 (the mill visit is currently suspended until further notice).

We will ascend the Pontón Pass, enjoying the second-largest beech forest in Europe, and stop at the source of the Sella River. Additional stops include the Panderruedas viewpoint and the Chorco de los Lobos, a 17th-century wolf trap. We will reach Caín around 2 PM, where you’ll have free time for lunch (not included).

In the afternoon, we depart at 3:00 PM to explore the Valdeón Valley in the heart of the national park. We will pass through the Pandetrave Pass and take tracks leading us to Fuente Dé, ascending to the glacial valley of Áliva, and then descend to the Asturian village of Sotres. The tour concludes with a return to Cangas de Onís via Poncebos.
